Kurosawa trailhead

People from all over Japan come here on pilgrimage. There is a grave marker called “Reijinhi”, where souls are believed to return after death. Many Shinto and Buddhist statues can be found here.
This area is also home to unique alpine plants and wild birds.

Hida Kosaka trailhead
“Sannoike Pond” has long been considered the dwelling of the “Dragon God.”
The water in the pond is treated with great care. Entering the pond or touching it with bare hands is not permitted.
This is Mount Mamakodake, located on Mount Ontake. It is a naturally formed site created by volcanic activity.
